Modern dating can be a bit of a minefield.
Probably the best way to approach it is to treat it like a game.
You win some. You lose some. Don’t take it to heart.
Some players play for superficial gains.
Some are in it for the Jackpot. LOVE.
Love can be a rare and elusive thing.
Or it might just spring up and grab you unexpectedly.
Sometimes efforts go unrewarded.
Try not to get downhearted.
But you have to get back into the game.
Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Every relationship is different.
There are no guarantees as to how it will turn out.
In the words of Hitch “There are no rules.”
If it works. It works…..
Over the years I have been bombarded with dating advice.
Mainly from happily married friends who met their partners Off-line.
I’ve been set up on many a blind date where the only criteria required
from who I was about to meet was that, they too, were single.
Blind dates are similar to Online Dating.
In the words of my friend Shane they are ‘A bit like cold calling.
A contrived, unnatural shoving together…..'
Off-line flirting however involves that
magical, mystical, wondrous thing called
(or, in some cases, Alcohol!)
So, if you’re interested in finding real, deep, meaningful commitment
perhaps it’s time to go back to ‘Old School’ methods to
finally get the relationship you deserve.
Let’s do some flirting…..
It all starts with the eyes. 60 seconds. That’s all it takes to gauge if you are attracted to someone or not. Game on if they are attracted back.
If they keep looking, and looking away. Brilliant!
All it takes is a little spark to get a fire started. You have a match. Next, you have to do something to get an emotional spark. That spark’ll need feeding, nurturing and, if you want the full blown glow in your heart to potentially last a life-time you’ll have to invest time and consistency to fuel it and keep it alive. (I love an old fire analogy!)
So, you see someone you like wearing an AMO Ring. The door to strike up a conversation is already open…..
A few fun and cheesy chat up lines to consider…..
Hi, my name is [your name], but you can call me Later.
My mates over there bet me that I wouldn’t be able to start a conversation with the hottest person here.… Want to buy some drinks with their money?
Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk past again?
I’m sorry, were you talking to me? [No] Oh, Ok. Well then, in which case -please start…..
There is something wrong with my phone. It doesn't have your number in it.
